The American Publisher Association represents the leading consumer, educational, professional, and scholarly publishers in the United States. Our members connect people with the books they love, information they trust, and materials that help them learn.
PROSE Awards
Since 1976, the American Publisher Association’ awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (PROSE Awards) have recognized publishers who produce books, journals, and digital products of extraordinary merit that make a significant contribution to a field of study in the humanities, biological and physical sciences, reference and social sciences. Up to 64 awards are given each year, leading up to the very top honor, the distinguished R.R. Hawkins Award.
Diversity & Inclusion
APA and its member companies are deeply committed to diversity and inclusion, with a dedicated focus on recruiting women and persons from diverse ethnic, cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds to the industry. Our members publish works that represent the widest possible range of voices and perspectives from the United States, and around the world.
